Annealing after forging of steels with a higher carbon content (material 1.4116 >0.35% C) is absolutely necessary for further processing.

In order to obtain a soft annealed structure that is as uniform as possible, the initial structure is of crucial importance.

The annealing softens the structure and enables further processing with little stress.

A total time-temperature cycle (including heating and cooling) is approximately 36-48 hours.
